It’s been getting warmer recently and really starting to feel like summer! Especially after the Memorial Day long weekend. The Covid-19 quarantine restrictions have slowly started lifting allowing people access to beaches and hiking trails (people still aren’t allowed to lay out at the beach though, you have to be constantly moving and social distancing). However, we’re still practicing strict quarantine rules as Mina is still under 1 year old and is susceptible to harsher coronavirus symptoms at a young age. I’m just being incredibly cautious and removing any opportunities for potentially catching the virus.
Thus, we stayed at home for Memorial Day Weekend. Instead, I put on a big sun hat and we played outside. The hat instantly made me feel like I was on vacation, even though I was a few feet from my front door.
As I’ve gotten older and wiser, I’ve realized how important sun protection is, especially for your face and anti-aging. When I’m out on a walk with Mina, I always make sure to apply SPF 50+ and wear a hat. If it’s not too hot, I also cover up my arms and decolletage. I realized my standard Nike hats weren’t cutting it – half of my face was exposed to the sun – and started to research large brim hats with UPF 50. I landed on Coolibar hats and sun protective gear. They make high quality items that get the job done and are stylish, too. I also found this hat on Amazon, which I love. I know it looks a bit ridiculous, but it’s very lightweight and so versatile with the various wearing options! It’s also great for gardening.
